To control aquarium snails populations, you don’t need harsh chemical treatments or drastic cleaning of your Fish Tanks (Aquariums), just a bit of food and a glass, we used Tetra Funtips as they’re easy to stick to the bottom of the glass https://amzn.to/2V6jQMA.
We see a lot of posts from people saying snails are out of control how can I kill them? What they need to be asking is WHY are they out of control?
Are the snails causing Damage?
Do you think they’re unsightly?
Are you sure you want to kill them?
Why do you think they’re out of control?
Snails in Aquariums can only thrive if there’s enough food for them to do so, snail control rather than destruction is easy simply don’t overfeed your tank. It can be a balancing act but if you’re feeding your fish the right amount of food the snails will only have the little the fish miss to eat, plus any damaged dying plant matter (They don’t eat live plants), and they’re population should balance out.
If you do, you can see how we do it in our Video below, it won’t get rid of them all and any eggs left will still hatch but should allow you to get on top of a sudden surge in snail population, if you are still having problems with been over run you may want to change the amounts of and/or frequency of food you are feeding your fish.
